Funk Fridays Vol. 15
The summer is coming to a close for many of us and so that may mean looking at Friday afternoons with more of a thought of responsibility... wait no sorry I have that backwards. Let loose! Get weird, get wild, but most importantly, get funky:
I had the pleasure of seeing Erol Alkan the other weekend at the Mad Decent Block Party and he was grooving hard until the lightning came and had to rain on the parade quite literally. He also compiles half of Beyond The Wizards Sleeve that is know for their disco style remixes. Check out this little five minute mini mix they did for the wonderful Annie Mac:
Fools Gold has been on top of their game lately signing rising talents, and Sweet Valley is surely one of those examples. With a new EP out it's safe to say FG reeled in some serious skills:
The FatRat has always been a really fun guy to listen to. This remix of "Turn The World On" is surely one of his bigger works yet:
If only this Oiva remix of "License to Drive" was out a few months my summer would be complete:
French Express has been a big name when it comes to indie dance music and they are definitely flexing those indie dance muscles with these three tracks coming from The Estrablishment, Chris Malinchak, and Isaac Tichauer:
Felguk is typically known more for his in your face electro but this record is more along the lines of breaking it down instead of bouncing around. Big thanks to Beth for the discovery!
