Gone Skiing

So there is a foot of snow outside and it's not even November? I guess there is nothing else to do than dust off the skis and get my Bode Miller on. But in all seriousness, it's kind of absurd out there today, so grab a bottle and just rock out until this snows melts away in a week or so:


Just a couple of Swedish bros, Darwin and Backwall, to start off this post with a monster remix of Don't Give Up. A real fun club stomper with some good euro house flavor. I say a remix like this puts these guys on the map for sure:




Now to adjust to a softer hitting track, Dirty South's new remix of Skylar Grey's single Invisible is one that definitely shows the versatility Dirty South has. To go from the bumpin jams to something really smooth and simple is a truly impressive characteristic of Dirty South, cool music video too:




It's been a while since I'd heard anything out of Jack Beats, and to be honest I was really was starting to miss them. But nothing to fear, they are back with this new track End of Love. I never thought it was possible to be able to put a deep electro bass, simple keyboards riffs and a Johnny Cash-esque sample together and make a song of it, but I've been proven wrong:

Halloween Funk

When I talk to the unfortunate population that doesn't listen to house and electronic music,  I often get the same response as to why they don't: it's just endless hard hitting rave music. Well on this Halloween weekend I have a rebuttle. Three songs that got a little jazz and funk infused in them. These aren't the kind dance songs you bounce off the walls to, these are the ones that you just want to groove to. So get weird this weekend in some inapropriate costumes but always keep jammin.


Zombie Disco Squad coming with a little scat jazz mixed in with some indie house in Piano Man. I've had this track on repeat this afternoon and I'm completely fine with it. Besides their name is perfect for the theme of this weekend:




Louis La Roche is back at it again with this new track Los Angeles. I love his EP Gimme Gimme/The Wall. He comes back with that same energy in this song that requires you to put some dancing shoes on:

This new jam by The Crystal Method, I'm Not Leaving, is featured in the new pretty sick looking documentary "RE:Genereation" and has Martha Reeves and the Funk Brothers giving us a whole lot of R&B and Soulful music for this weekend. A Maximal Crazy Weekend

I think it is safe to say Halloween weekend has started now. I guess that means it's time to get weird in weird outfits and have very little remorse about it. To get your the weekend going I decided to go strictly electro house. We all need that deep bass energy to get this night going especially when the weather outside has been pretty shitty. With no further adieux, I give you beats:

A couple of killer "Maximal Crazy" remixes got released this week that I'm sure made the great Tiesto very proud. Bassjacker's remix stays true to their sound with a deep aggressive bass and cut samples. Swanky Tunes and R3hab kill it with the synthed keyboards they throw in their remix, it defninitely gives it a classic house sound with a high energy drop. So which remix is superior? You be the judge:










This recent remix by Calvin Harris of the track, "Iced Out" is a diamond in the rough that deserves a little more love. I think you'll agree after a listen:









The other day I posted Duck Sauce's new track "Big Bad Wolf". Well it seems that Dada Life is already hot on making a remix and it sounds like it could even trump the original. I also love how they always just preview their songs in studio, no music video nonsense, just good music. Hopefully it comes out before Halloween cause it sounds horrifyingly jammin:

Whomp Wednesday Vol. 4

Wednesday is here again which means the wobble bass returns as well. Its getting colder and more dreary outside. But hey, inside, with some speakers, and these hard hitting tracks we got going on this week, it won't feel so depressing of a time of year. This week like most has a combination of some throwback dub tracks as well as a few new releases. Hopefully for many of you the flow is growing out which makes the whomp more glorious with lucious hair flying in the air. So let it fly, let if fly.


Here is a new remix of Dada Life's "Happy Violence". I love that it already has the vocals version which is supposed to drop next week. It sounds like Nervo is on vocals? Can't be 100% sure though, great vocals either way:

Bassex dropped a killer deep bass remix to Wolfgang Gartner's track "The Champ" off of the Weekend in America EP. Tough to give this song justice using words from the Webster Dictionary, so just play it:

A Big Bad Wolf In the Air

Halloween is nearing, and Duck Sauce is on the case. Their new track "Big Bad Wolf" signifies the return of Duck Sauce after their hit single "Barbra Streisand". Spooky samples, great snare drums, and a minorly absurd music video; check it:

Firery Monday

This Monday comes with a little treat via Kaskade. Fire and Ice got released ahead of schedule which is such a savior because I don't think I could have waited much longer. At first listen, this album is definitely a game changer for house music. Get your hands on these tracks today because the whole album is fire, but its also ice too...

As the cold weather looms and your head is still pounding, I'll try and help out.
