I Got Nothin' But Tunes For You

I am officially on Spring break, that means I'm not doing much else besides keeping up on House music. That means that for all you readers here on the VCH blogspot, you best get a pair of good sounding headphones. I'm a big fan of Pete Tong's Radio 1 show on BBC that airs for 2 hours every Friday (via online stream), and I apologize for not following up after Swedish House Mafia took over the show last week. Swedish House Mafia opened with their new-unreleased track at Madison Square garden back in December. Haven't heard about the song since. They opened with the new sound last week on Radio 1, and it's officially called Greyhound. No release date yet, but they announced that it is finished and you can listen to the rip of it right here:

Next, I got a song that was also aired during the Swedish House Mafia takeover. As much as I prefer Swedish House Mafia together as opposed to the members individually doing their own thing, they each manage to come out with some great tracks on their own. Sebastian Ingrosso making an unbelievable track in 2011: Calling w/ Alesso - which is currently a nomination for an International Dance Music Award, and Axwell's [re-cut] of Michael Calfan's Resurrection was his most recent, massive bomb. Every year the three put out great sounding tunes and today I'm going to share with you the preview of Steve Angello's most recent track, "Yeah."

Download Steve Angello Yeah

Speaking of Alesso, check out his newest tune (release date TBA):

Madeon, a young and brilliantly talented, budding producer, is coming out with a new track. Icarus, a very retro sounding track, has been promoted by numerous big names, and in general - sir deadmau5 seems to be a big fan. Comes out tomorrow on Beatport, here it is:

Last but not least, this week I had the privelege to go see a special documentary that only came out in movie theaters for 2 nights across the nation. Re:Generation, featuring Skrillex, The Crystal Method, Mark Ronson, DJ Premiere and Pretty Lights. Basically, the Grammy's wanted to run a project in which they matched one of the previously named Djs with artists of a complete different musical genre. Google and youtube Re:Generation for more info, I enjoyed the movie a ton. Hopefully we'll see it come out online and on dvd. My favorite track from the film, hands down was Pretty Lights taking on  country music, featuring LeAnn Rimes and Dr. Ralph Stanley. Here it is, and until next time!

I Want the Bird's Word

I was just about to say that this week was becoming dry in terms of new music being out on the market but I clearly was just so so wrong. Diplo once again released another song on his Express Yourself EP for free download. "Bird is the Word" has a perfect mixture between giving tribute to the original classic and the putting a little Diplo spin on it. It's a must have:

Lucky Date hasn't made it on here in many moons. But their new record "I Want You" is beyond worthy of having its praises sung here on VCH. So this is me singing their praises... PLAY THE DAMN SONG AND DANCE:

I haven't particularly ever been a huge follower of Pleasurekraft but the free download on their soundcloud is amazing. If you don't download "This Is What Rock n' Roll Looks Like" then quite frankly I don't know you:

So I just sent this mix by an up and comer out of Chi-town. I'm haven't been obsessed with dubstep in particular but this mix by Fraggle Beach has definitely made me reconsider my tastes. Wear protective gear when listening to this mix... things get aggressive:

Tracklist:
1. YMCMB - TYR
2. Wildstyle Method - Bassnectar
3. Hold Up - Minnesota
4. Always Tomorrow - Figure
5. Bounce - Ajapai
6. Heartbreak VIP - Notixx
7. Shoot Me Down - Sigma
8. Lockdown - Bare
9. Welcome to Atlanta - The Bolivian Marching Affair
10. Aerodynamic - Specimen A & James D'ley
11. Show Freak - Dirty Talk
12. New Life - Nero
13. Your World VIP - Metrik
14. We Ridin' - Kombat

Now to bring energy levels back closer to normal (but not too close) A-Trak's got a pretty fun remix of the Laidback Luke and Sander Van Doorn original "Who's Wearing the Cap":

That's a Bingo!

The Bingo Players have released a much awaited record that gives some pretty clear tribute to Daft Punk with the french sound and french song title, "L'Amour". It is a classic from 5 seconds in and you don't like it.. well you may wanna get your robot ears checked:

Manuel de la Mare is making quite the reputation for Italian DJ's and house from the boot shaped country. This remix of "House of God" may actually give you a very spiritual and out of body experience. Just press play but don't look into the light.. unless you've got something else in mind:

Deadmau5 has been playing "Maths" at his concerts for years now but has finally released it for the public. Joel has sent out some scares to the Dance Music world hinting that he's becoming bored with EDM nowadays and what it has become (I can agree in some circumstances) as well as lashing out at the commodification of UMF (takes a lot of stones to do that so props to the Mau5). But anyways this song exemplifies what dance music is truly supposed to be:

Lunde Bros madness

These guys have really become known for their mixes, and the one I'm loving right now This Is Lunde Bros #23 kills it, I'm dancing while typing at the same time... it takes a damn good mixtape to do that. This mix is guaranteed to get your Friday night going massive. Check it:

I'm Hungry..... FEEEDDD MEEEEE

Yes Yes Yes Feed Me has come out with a new EP at last. Feed Me's Escape From Electric Mountain (I love how all his EP's sound more like novels) is a bit of some new style stuff but also is complimented by a little old school style Feed Me. Though I love the guy and for the most part love the EP, two songs I particularly didn't fall in love with (I won't tell cause I'm putting all 6 songs up and wouldn't want to spoil it for ya if we have different taste). So with no further adieux, here is Feed Me's Escape From Electric Mountain:

Laidback Wednesday

Tell why not have two Madonna remixes in one post? I know the Super Bowl performance was sub-par but hey, she's Madonna she does what she damn well pleases. I got here a Nicky Romero remix teaser and also a Laidback Luke one. Funny enough they are both remixes of the new Madonna track "Give Me All Your Love" so you can be the judge of which remix will be bigger upon release. Both keep good chunks of the vocals in and strangely enough I truly think her voice goes well with almost any genre (well maybe I can cross out a Madonna/ Feed Me collabo). And in other news Laidback Luke is in Barcelona tonight. Got my ticket. Hopefully try to get some video of that on here tomorrow before I go deaf. But none the less enjoy the tunes:

Bonus shtufff for tonights big show, I'm psyched to see the "Jet Lee of dance music"

Reliving Nervo @ Bling Bling

The news that Nervo would be coming to Barcelona at the big shot club called "Bling Bling" (yes it actually is called Bling Bling) came to my attention only hours before the showtime. So panic mode to get tickets in time for the gig became an overwhelming feeling for me. Luckily, my keen investigation skills allowed me to get tickets with enough time to spare before hand to go out for some pre-concert beers with some friends before a night that was about to be at the very least an impressive exposition of DJing ability from the greatest hot-australian-blonde-twin-dj-duo to ever hit the planet.

As a newcomer to Bling Bling much of my mind at first was taking in the scene of the club before the twins came on. The very chique and classy look to the club is comparable to nearby club, Sutton. But where the two differentiate is the arrangement of table service and dancefloor which may sound insignificant but once the night got started you could see a very different flow of the crowd.

Nervo came on probably about 1:30 am and the moment couldn't have come any sooner. Just as the duo came to the booth, almost everyone from the tables (which were located behind the booth) flooded down and around the booth to get good views of the amazing australian duo doing their thing. A couple of highlights included a nice little classic meddly into the Cassius classic "I Love You So" and also a playing of my personal favorites "The Way We See The World". The rest of the night continued with much of the typicalTo say that Nervo threw down what is nothing less than an awesome party (very much their goal) and just can't wait to see these two continue to show the world their abilities.

Airborne by M. Woods

I'm sorry I haven't kept up with the posts in a couple weeks, midterms have been keeping me busy! But straight to the music, Michael Woods has released his newest track. A lot of people don't keep up with this electro house DJ, but in London he's one of the most famous. Resident spinner at the famous Ministry of Sound, known Ibiza summer DJ @ Cream Ibiza, Michael continues to put out banger after banger. He's signed plenty of tracks to mau5trap, worked with all the big names of the game, has performed with the likes of the Toolroom family, and finally on his own record label "Airborne" on Diffused records! Listen to it, I don't think you'll be dissapointed.

I promise to return later this week with a shit ton more music, but for now time to work. Enjoy!

Hurricane Nervo

As I dutifully prepare myself before a wild night with Nervo at the notorious club in Barcelona called "Bling Bling" (can't take that name seriously) I wanted to give some more easy going electronic music before the ravenous storm commences tonight at about 2 am. So Pretty Lights? Rick Rubin? Take it away:

... Nope sorry thats enough will being calm on such an awesome night. Changing the channel, commence raging pre Nervo:

Thank God It's Wednesday

I'll make an executive decision and say the weekend starts... now. And with that being said, as much as I love the progressive and disco we've been putting on here as of late, but I think its over due for some heavy, deep, in your face, cuss you out and not apologize kind of electro house. And a couple of artists probably had these points in mind with releases like these:

Chuckie back at it with this new very fun electro hit "Together". The drops have a good dancing feeling when he is more typical to throw down tunes that make you want to bounce of walls. Well lets just keep this one on the dance floor shall we?:

Wolfgang Gartner has returned after his unbelievably successful EP "Weekend In America" (go check that out if you haven't already) with this new single "There and Back". Not much more to say about it than its signature Gartner. Spin dat shit:

Firebeatz are definitely a duo you should start following immediately if you haven't already heard "Funky Shit" or "It's Like That 2011" go do so now. This new record "Where's Your Head At" has the exact samples and tune to it that you could predict. And I truly think they absolutely nailed it:

Zedd at it again with this killer remix of the Skrillex and The Doors callabo "Breakin a Sweat". Just press the play button already (who goes to blogs to read anyways??):
