A Plethora of Tunes for You (including unreleased)

Hey! Ted here, got tunes for you today, and I'm personally going to see Wolfgang Gartner along with a long list of other DJs here in Salt Lake City, February 11th. I promise I will have pictures, videos and a response for you after the show! (Check out his facebook by the way! Awesome preview of his new track coming out soon, posted.) I have 6 tracks for you here, and a picture of me by the decks after them all haha, hope you dig.)

First, a Chicane bootleg:

Second, Tim Mason's latest track (the popular up and coming big name who is signed to Steve Angello's Size Records):

3rd - Jeremy Olander, the man always popping up in Eric Prydz's facebook posts and releasing tracks under Pryda Friends, has given 2 tracks away for free.

4th - I'll let you know again, you readers better get used to lots of Eric Prydz posts from me, here's a short video he posted of his final "E.P.I.C. - Eric Prydz In Concert" of 2011 which took place at the Alexandra Palace in London town. Take my word for it, you think Deadmau5 is a visual performance, this guy's EPIC shows were massive. And to think this guy is still underground, just click the link and take a look at the types of shows (most often sold out) he puts on:

5th - The brains behind Superbad, the DJ duo not the movie! Check these guys out, Jon O'Leary, (1/2 of Superbad), and I are able to talk here and there, and he lets me know about all the crazy raves that go on in London when I'm there. Here's a link to their newest soundcloud post, a remix of KCAT's "So Many" :

6th & last! (Systrom is gonna yell at me for posting too much on the same day he wrote his! :D I think we both needed to make up for the gap in which we didn't post anything for several days. Sorry readers/listeners! And seriously, if you're reading and following this blog, good looks, truly.) So, my last tune for you is Afrojack! Yup, I don't give a rat's ass if anyone thinks he's "mainstream," he's a beast behind the decks, he can pump out a good sounding tune in 30 minutes, and he keeps making us house music often. Love this guy's music, and all the DJs seem to love him as a bro too... keep it up Jack? Here's his latest tune, out now on beatport; Teaming up again with Shermanology's talent for the "Can't Stop Me" (Club Mix).

Until next time!

Mighty Revivals

As with every music genre, there are numerous originators and innovators of the genre that go unnappreciated and undervalued in their importance. Stuart Price is exactly one of those guys (also goes by Jacques Lu Cont, Les Rythmes Digitales, Thin White Duke and a few others). His development of electronic music has gone grossly unnoticed as EDM enters the mainstream. But say no more, because the Thin White Duke has returned as a knight and shining armour to redirect EDM back to the way it should be with his two most recent releases, "Church" and "Release":

Speaking of revivals, Treasure Fingers seems to be the spearheaded leader of making nu-disco a truly recognized and appreciated sub-genre of electronic music. And so disco is born again!! His new original with Malente called "Au Revue" is just pure masterwork. Nothing more needs to be said, just play the damn song:

Download Treasure Fingers & Malente Au Revue (Original Mix)

** Bonus track from Tommy Trash and Moguai on Moguai's new album "Mpire" on the Mau5trap label. Record is called "In n' Out". Definitely more Moguai sounding than Tommy Trash's more grundgy sound. I enjoyed it, hope you will too:

Why You Walden So Much?!

Yeah, for real, you're Walden, you're Walden if you decide to make a club banger at the age of 17, you're John Walden if you're 18 and you got Pete Tong of the BBC's Radio 1, supporting your tracks. His name is far out there in the underground house world, and yet he only has 572 likes on his facebook page... not like he needs it but check it out: http://www.facebook.com/WaldenOfficial I don't know what this kid looks like, but he's from Sydney, Australia and proud of it! This kid is clearly gonna take off, seems to have a good relationship with the famous, up and coming Madeon, and he's just another producer in his teens that knows how to make a brilliant-f*ckin track. Enjoy 'Brightness' after the jump, and click his Official Youtube Channel, to listen to his other sounds. This guy makes a chuneeeeeeeee.  [Check back soon for some Mord Fustang ;)]

Knife Malfunctions

As the winter progresses, numerous DJ's are doing their best to help melt away the freezing weather with some fire records. And from the looks of it, the New England area could use a little warmth (#yikes). So here are some new tracks from some new faces to brighten the gloom of winter... goodluck and stay strong:

Literally just heard of this guy like 5 minutes ago but I'm already a full supporter of his work after checking out his soundcloud. Jerry Rekonius is only 22 years old (I still got a year to be as good as him right?) and he has mastered a unique yet destructive electro sound. Check out his new single "10th". Don't know the significance of 10, but who cares:

The Lunde Bros released "Knifeproblems" and "You Wanna?" this week but I am only showing "Knifeproblems" because honestly, its the only one worth your time. Its very simple, and the build is interesting, but I love the drop and also am really happy to see the little Beastie Boys samples they throw in... classic:

So this guy Chameo sent me one of those soundcloud private message things which I usually ignore but this time I gave the guy a shot and am forever greatful (thanks Chameo).  The first one, is a remix of Fallulah's record "Out of it" and the happy chord progressions Chameo throws in goes perfectly with her voice to make such a beautiful remix. If you need a cheering up, this should do the trick:

This second track by this up & comer is called "Wow". Tough to describe this original mix in any other way than the title portrays it. The samples are funky, and the figdets piano and violin chords are fun and very worthy of summertime jams. Open your disco ears to some more feel good music:

Diplo Razzmatazz Review

I don't think I am able to think of a figure more innovative and original coming out of Philadelphia (aside from maybe the cheesesteak) than Diplo. His style can only be described really by what he refuses it to be: simplistic chord progressions, radio catchy samples, and repetitive drum lines with little to no variations. Studying antrhopology in high school, one can see how he was able to apply his theories of culture, and the variations and interferences of various cultures to his music. I was asked before the concert by a friend what I expected the concert at Razzmatazz to be like. But I honestly was hopeless in predicting a set list for such an unpredictable DJ.

Going into Razz for my first time, I had expectations of a very yuppy, fancy club (maybe my brief experience in Club Mansion in Miami has tainted my thoughts on the figurative "bar of expectation"). But it was exactly what it is called by Catalonians as a, "discoteca". Being in a much more industrial area of town, that is the exact feel you got from the concert floor (there are three floors at Razz). It's wide open and durable feel gave it the feeling that you could really throw down... which is the exact feeling it would need for what was to transpire.

After Machine Beats and warmed up the place, Diplo opened with his rendition of The Bloody Beetroots Death Crew 77's new single,  "Church of Noise" which immediately had Razz in a frenzy. The night was one that I soon won't forget, and if this post somehow comes across Wesley Pentz's computer... please come back.

Other highlights:
-A couple of Skrill songs which were tied in nicely
-A rendition of the rock classic "Roxanne" to end the night (someone give me the name please and thank you)
-dropping a lil weezy "a mili" over some lethal moombahton drums
-obviously throwing down "Pon de Floor" and "Original Don"
-Also mixed in Hardwell's new track "Spaceman" which I was pretty psyched for
-And finally, a little "No Beef" in which Diplo stood on the booth and commanded everyone to bounce... we obeyed.

Now I can't just leave you without some beats, we would all lose sleep over that notion. So check out Diplo's upcoming EP "Express Yourself" in this little teaser:

My Weekend Has Begun - Let Me Get Yours Started

Yeah 2 posts in one day I know this. I don't support bootlegging music either, DJs barely make enough as it is. Pryda, however, is going to be fine for the rest of his life. Favorite DJ/Producer right here, found a youtube rip of his PRIVATE remix to M83-Midnight City, people have been going crazy over it, and enough that I think he'll be releasing it at some point. Might be the free one he's mentioned on his facebook... I love this tune and I kind of find it hard to not love every tune he drops. Here it is. Instructions: Play with loud speakers
-TT

Oh and another tune for you, Thomas Gold & Dirty south, back again since "Alive" with another banger. Thomas Gold is another producer in my top 10. Boy what a couple of years it's been for him. And for all you believers, Dirty South proves he has not died on us some more! Australia + Germany = this:

New Track Caught in the Mau5trap

Yeah... wow, so Moguai, by far one of my favorite producers, just released his new track "Mpire" under Mau5trap recordings of course. I'm telling you, if you don't know Moguai - that's fine, but get educated now. This German producer has one of the most original sounds I know. Don't believe me? Listen to his other tracks "Oxygen," "Optinuum," "Lyve," "Oyster," "8001." All unbelievable tracks. So when I hear Moguai is going to drop a new sound, I definitely look forward to it (hopefully) being a weird-sounding-only-Moguai-could-make-something-like this. And what do you know, that's what he delivered. Mpire is catchy, it's relatively simple, it's got the electric guitar sound throughout it, it's what electronic music should be. He reminds me so much of Pryda (Eric Prydz aka Cirez D) my favorite DJ/Prdocuer, he doesn't have to create a loud room House track for it to be a banger. Let me know if any of you readers don't rape the replay button because I will personally hook it up with more tracks. Enjoy this, I know I did.

Enough blabbing though, you should know I'm on Beatport, Youtube and Soundclouds more than I am facebook, so I plan to share that good shit. Getting Weird

Its been quite a few days across the pond but more importantly it has been a good week in the EDM music scene. Some more great tracks of all kinds getting dropped in preparation for warmer weather days. And for that we thank you:

Louis La Roche's new remix of the old Fatboy Slim tune Get Naked is a warm springtime jam which is why is perfectly coined "Is It Summer Yet? Remix". Well it definitely made me wanna get to the beach and get naked (that's kosher here right?):

Everyday I think I am falling more and more in love with the Lunde Bros. (must be a swedish brotherly blood type of thing). Anyways, these two teasers definitely give me the feeling that these guys are gonna blow up very very soon and storm right into the epicenter of the EDM scene:

Knifeproblems [Mutants] Release 18th of January by Lunde Bros.

If You Wanna [Mutants] Release 18th January by Lunde Bros.

*And to add to the hype of these two, here's their most recent hour long mix. They never go wrong on these:

This Is Lunde Bros. #019 by Lunde Bros.

Dada Life has not just become a dynamic duo powerhouse, but a way of life; living a dada life that is. This remix of Afrojack and R3hab's classic Prutattaa brings us back to the roots of why we love Dada Life in the first place. Deep, fat, yet fun uplifting bass lines:

And as a bonus, here is Cazzette's remix to the much awaited Dada Life track, Rolling Stone T-Shirt:

Download Dada Life Rolling Stone T-Shirt (Cazzette Remix)

So now that I may have your attention more with some aggressive bnanas tracks, I grant you with the first electro dubstep track I have put on in a while. It's Crizzly's remix of Go Hard. Watch out for this guy, cause this track definitely goes... hard:

Barça Bitch

As the first week in the beautiful beach city of Barcelona winds down, I would just like to reiterate how much better beach-city life is than any other life in comparison via this Lonely Planet article:

http://www.lonelyplanet.com/morocco/the-mediterranean-coast-and-the-rif/tangier/travel-tips-and-articles/76442?affil=twit#

But anyways, I'll do my best to be humble about the matter, though it may be tough. To add to the good vibes there has been some great releases over the past week which is my only regret of not getting to my computer more since I've landed here. But there is no time to waste... ¡escucha la musica magnifica!

This next one is from Avicii's NYE concert, this rendition of Papa Was a Rolling Stone absolutely kills it:

And to round out today check out Nicky Romero's year mix, its worthwhile from beginning to end:
